Esoteric Tackle is new in the UK. www.esoterictackle.co.ukWhat I wanted to do was create a place where people could buy that fishing tackle that is not so easy to find. Tenkara fits right in there and so that is wherte I am focusing first. I'll drop notes in this thread when new stuff comes in. The first should be here by the end of March 2012. Cust.

Custheyder.
Tenkara needs a web site like yours. when i first got my rod i went down to my local tackle shop with my wish list of furled leaders & various items & was met with stone faces and confused looks. Its been a struggle to get everything together to be honest. sounds like thats all about to change. Im looking forward buying items from you in the future, all the very best.

Guys, I've just bought some assorted tackle from this site and the prices are keen and the delivery is very quick and the postal charges were very reasonable.....A++++ so far. Alex

Thanks Stevie.. I've had confirmation that all sorts of good stuff will be arriving by the end of the month. Furled leaders on my list to get in and I have a supplier. I'll have to chase them up.
Alex.... It's a pleasure to do business with you. I want to provide value for money. Top products at realistic prices. It's in my best interests to provide a good service. Postal charges are a thing that irritate me about some places. Charging £10 to send to the Isle of Man when I know it cost them £1.50 at most. I'll always strive to keep the prices competative. If there is a better deal out there.... let me know and I'll try and match it.

Hopefully you'll have some rod tips available custheyder, A clumsy fart like me could do with a few soon. Are the tips interchangable from rod to rod? will a tip from an iwana fit an ebisu for instance?

As far as I'm aware tips are not interchangeable. As long as you follow the basic instructions for looking after your rod then there shouldn't be a problem. Tenkara USA report only a 1.3% breakage rate. I do intend to stock a limited number of tips just in case, but it should be a problem. Of course there will be a warranty on manufacture defects but as you point out I can't be responsible for tip breakages because they are so fine and subject to abuse/mishandling.
Order posted from Japan today.... new stock in very soon!

Hi Custheyder.
When are you likely to receive your first shipment of rods?
Regards Stevie

I can't say. I have to check that the prototype performs exactly as I want it to. That the handle and build quality is right up there with the best. Then it will be about a month to manufacture and ship. So realistically it would ne a minimum of a month and a half. This is just the first rod size. Dependant on sales I will then work on the next size.

I don't think i would buy another Tenkara rod unless there were spare parts avaliable.I just broke the top of the second from top section on my Yamame. Now i know how easy they can break.

Is your Hi-viz Fluorocarbon coming in with this next shipment.I have been building a taper into my level 4.5 line with Maxima Ultragreen for dry fly work. This is giving me a vast improvement on presentation & lifting the line off.I wouldn't mind trying a couple of step downs of Hi-viz fluorocarbon for my french nymph leaders.Just need this sun to die down a bit them i might get back out & start catching again. Cheers

The fluorocarbon just cleared customs in Coventry so it shouldn't be too far away. On the way also are some 8m tapered fluorocarbon leaders in another pack which should be perfect from french nymph set ups as well. Unfortunately they are not coloured but if I can get enough interest and sales then I might be able to have the factory make them in a bright orange. They are reluctant to do this yet.
