330cm and 450cm ... these are the length of the rods. The prototype was dispatched yesterday! Photographs after the weekend when I take it out on the river for the day.

custheyder, Look forward to seeing the photos next week and your review of the prototypes so far....I have a feeling that you'll manage to put a bend in the rods going on the lovely rivers that you have over there and the classy flies that you've been tying Exciting times indeed... tight lines Alex

Nothing is set in stone I might do a shorter rod at some point but it will take time for me to get there.

It's here! ... Click the pictures for a bigger image. The rod weights in at 90g according to my postal scale. The colours will be adjusted before the final production. Roll on Sunday when I take her on the water and see if I can catch a few fish! ... Pictures in a report on Manx waters to follow! Cust.

I've done it! ... I've gone and pressed the button on the order. The first rods should be available for sale in early June. More sizes and flex's to follow. You will be able to see them at the British Fly Fair if you can find me!

My congratulations, Cust! I see your rod at your webpage. You become a vendor! What is branded prototype?

Yes congratulations, my tenkara fishing is starting to create some interest on the river I'll point them in your direction. I'll certainly be interested if you stock the 14ft version.

Paul: I should have the proto 14ft in the next week or two. It should of come with the rods, but unfortunately the factory forgot to pack it.
tenkaracz: The brand is my own. I just became a manufacturer! This was the prototype of the rod in the shop. The red I decided I didn't like. It looked too much like a crash helmet with sparkly bits in it. Too much for a full rod. The translucent red made me smile every time the rod caught the light just right. You can see the high quality carbon fibre picked out by the colour.

Sorry Cust, I mean what it is based on Daiwa branded or Shimano branded well known rod. Isn't It?

Sorry, can't say what the blank is but the factory that makes them for me specialises in telescopic rods and these have a spot on action with a smooth curve. These are not re-branded Nissin, Daiwa or Shimano rods. They are not re-branded at all. They are made to my specification which is in line with the premium priced rods but without the premium price. I'll be at the British Fly Fair International with the rods for people to see and try.

OK Cust, it is clear now. It is great, that you have your own vision to the rod action and curve, balance and weight.

It pretty much conforms to the standard 6:4 flex you will find on similar length rods so it won't be too alien to anyone handling it. It is light and well balanced. Rods have been sent out so hopefully there will be reviews about from independents so you don't have to take my word for it.

I have 4!! 6:4 390см rods in my own, weight differs by about 15%, the balance of not more than 5%, but it is fundamentally different from the perspective of the casts.
