So after my first outing using Tenkara with dry flies I was wondering about nymphing. I have a 12ft rod and have on a 9 ft level line leader, a indicator and tippit as used in French nymphing and two weighted nymphs. Does this seem ok? Ray

Ribbleman Sounds ok but you should not need an indicator with the short tipper. You might be better with one nymph, not too heavy, until you get used to it. You will be amazed where you can put it with your outfit. Try the streamer water at the head of the pools in this hot weather as they will often lay on very thin water so wade carefully. Enjoy Glyn

Have a look at what Paul G says about Honryu in his thread under 'general information'. In my humble opinion, having just one fly on your line helps with presentation and makes 'fly first' casting easier.

in addition to a short main line (maybe 11') and one nymph, it helps me to splice in a piece of line, just before adding tippet, that is a different color than my main line (i use 6" of red amnesia mono). this helps me gage the depth i am fishing. i also might start with 5 1/2' of tippet until i know i'm just bouncing bottom, then lengthen or shorten the tippet from there.

I do similar, a short line about 3' shorter than the rod, then 8" of bright carp marker braid (different colour from my fluorocarbon line, the tippet 1.5x the water depth I expect to fish. By holding the braid just above the water surface I can ensure a good drift & bite registration. I only use a longer line if fishing where I can't get close to the fish.
