Had fun playing about in between tying pike flies and minnow flavoured trout streamers, The black one I saw in one of Daves Facebook photos and thought it would do for some of the fast rips on my streams, the caddis style one has squirrel tail hackle instead of feather and the olive one seems a hit with my local trout and I had fish go airborne trying to hit it when I paused the drift over some shallow fast water on Monday

Having been a relatively early adopter to Tenkara I have to confess that I have very rarely fished with Kebari. With time to kill I finally broke down and I tried tying, using a kit from Tenkara USA. I have to say the results were not very pretty and not too much like the 'real' thing. However, I took some of them on my recent trip to a Southern Minnesota State Park here in the USA. First cast the best looking fly disappeared, poor tying on, definitely not Palomar! The next cast a pine tree took that fly 2 gone and 2 to go. Finally a successful cast and surprise surprise a small rainbow took it without hesitation. More fish followed I don't know who was the most shocked me or the fish. Interestingly, the fish were taking tiny midges off the surface, maybe a size 24 but my kebari were tied on a size 8 the largest hook I have ever used. My first fish on a fly I tied.
