Hi all,
I'm from Lancaster and fish a local stream and up in the Eden catchment. I'm still pretty new to fly fishing and rivers in particular, but very interested in Tenkara - as an ex coarse/match fisherman I was always very fond of fishing the pole and the whip.
Initially I'm thinking of an 8' Issui for that local stream, where casting under the canopy is often an issue.
Anyways, I'm sure I'll be back with lots of dumb questions .....
Chris.

Hello Chris, Welcome to the forum. Great source of information. Great river the Eden. You are well placed for other great waters as well. River fly fishing is, without doubt, the best form of fishing.

Welcome Chris, no such thing as a dumb question - ask away. The guys on the forum have a huge amount of knowledge but we're all learning as we go along.

Hi Chris. Sorry about the late welcome to our forum, working away from home gets in the way of fishing and writing reply's on the forum but there are plenty of members that can be relied on to answer any question that you may have. Simon.

Thanks for the welcomes ! - I'm just waiting for the Issui to arrive now, along with some line and then March 15th.
As for being well placed for fishing (?) .... right in the middle of nothingness really - the Eden is a 2hour round trip, the local River Lune is almost barren, but I suppose my local stream/river at 300yds from my workshop door that I drive over twice a day makes up for it.
Chris.

Chris, I would have thought you had some great waters closer than 2hrs, surely. The Wyre for one. I live Formby and you have a head start on me. Have a great season wherever you fish.
