Tenkara virgin no longer! The water fished is a stocked pond of the Franklin Club outside Toronto. Some of us from local fishing organizations will be helping with the Kasting4Kids day when corporate executives pay well for a day of instruction (western style), fishing and top quality cocktails/lunch. All proceeds go to the kids' rehabilitation. The 'guides' were treated in advance to an afternoon on the pond as our reward. The ice had only been off for about 10 days and the fish were not deep, midges were hatching, so we thought it would be a good time to try the tenkara rods. Two tenkara fishers caught about 4 each, about 15 other guides were western style and caught about the same. Looking forward to getting on a river - water for which the t-rod was made. Cheers.

Great to hear from you Greg. Thought you had forgotten us. Sounds like you all had a great day. Good luck on the river. Mine is way up at the moment due to all the rain we are having but the forecast is for better conditions next week. Luckily we have no ice!!

Thanks guys! I notice that on this website, words which are also links are not underlined, but do show as a link when you put your cursor over the linked word, i.e. 'Franklin Club' and 'Kasting4Kids' in this example. So if you just read the comment you cannot know there is additional information connected. Have a look at the Franklin so you can see where we were, and in particular, look at the organization that is organizing the fundraising effort. An idea that could be exported as a win-win, IMO.
