Hi all, I live in Leicester and am looking find some rivers to try in the local area. I'm new to Tenkara but have fly fished for many years. If any of you know some places or would be kind enough to take me out for a couple of hours to show me the ropes that would be great.
regards Simon

Welcome to the forum Simon There's plenty of info on the Discover Tenkara website (and don't forget to check out the regular blog on there too). We'd love to see you on one of our group instruction days on the Discover Tenkara Syndicate waters (dates for next season will be announced in a few weeks). Alternatively if you fancy a bit of grayling fishing before the trout season, feel free to get in touch via our website.

There's a thread here with links to a free series of articles by Paul G and I that we wrote a while ago. If you're new to tenkara there's some great information and if you're a keen fly fisher - the rest of the Eat, Sleep, Fish ezine is worth a look too.

Welcome Swelly, glad you've discovered tenkara a days tuition would be good to learn all the different techniques. I read somewhere that fly fishing is fishing with hundreds of flies and Tenkara is fishing one fly a hundred different ways.

Welcome Simon. AS has been said you couldn't better a day booked with JP & PG at Discover Tenkara. The Tenkara Syndicate waters are wonderful, unspoilt fisheries full of stunning little wild trout & John & Paul are two of the UK's most knowledgeable & proficient Tenkara anglers.

Thanks for the advice, I'm really looking forward to getting out when the weather improves and the river levels drop a little. I'll keep my eye open for the group instruction days and look forward to meeting some of you.
