Finally managed to get a half decent day and took the rod out.
Caught this lovely 4lber!
Lost two more when they snapped me off, but very happy with the performance of the rod.

Well done Chris
I think 4lb still water bows are pushing the boundaries a bit. A one in three success rate based on 4lbs sounds pretty good to me.
I almost got mine out on the Derbyshire Wye last year, but was advised not to based on the size of the fish in there...
Was it the Iwana?

Hi Pedros,
It was the iwana 12' with a 10.5' traditional leader and about 3' of 3lb tippet.
I was fishing a local stillwater that has a good flow at the inlet, the fish were stacked up but they get targeted a lot and so are pretty wise.
I was trying to target the smaller ones just to give the rod a try, the river I fish is in flood at the mo so this was the next best thing.
This fish just came up and engulfed my dry and I simply had to hold on, getting him in the net was a challenge - I need some practice.
I think the other two would have been smaller, more around the 1 - 2lb mark, they took nymphs and were on for a while before they smashed me. They do fight well at wansford.
Overall I was impressed that the rod handled this fish and also with the delicate presentation I was able to achieve.
Good fun.

Well done on your fish to Tenkara! My first was also at a still water at Chirk, a brook around 1 pound. Our rivers here in north Wales are still very unprodictable with the weather at this time. Starting to dream about the 3rd march.
