Hi all recent convert to Tenkara, I am now spending most of my time in and around Grenoble where in a year I will live permanently. A life long fly fisherman my wife recently attempted to introduce me to the continental / French "Toc" form of fishing unfortunately she cannot be dissuaded from using a worm or other live insect, she is however deadly fishing with a 6 meter extendable rod upstream very similar to nymph fishing but with the obvious difference! So not to my taste and having read of Tenkara over the last few years I determined to give it a go. Have fished a dry and duo both with success and have to say I find it fascinating, a new challenge and interest to my fishing but have yet to see any evidence of it in France although there are definitely some devotees. next year will see me fishing the Normandy chalk streams with my Tenkara rod and fly rod. Only wish I had taken it up earlier.

Great to hear of Tenkara being taken up in France. I have sold a few rods that way.

Not sure if you've come across Christophe's blog "Tenkara Normandie" before, but just in case it is of interest, here is the link: tenkaranormandie.blogspot.co.uk/
