Hi All Simon very kindly loaned me his and Sonia's tenkara to have a play and see what I thought of it all, my first play in a slightly high river, I thought I would try some bugging, it worked very well with around 10+ fish landed and several lost in a couple of hours, I made my self a braid leader, but I made it a little to long and when I went to land the best fish of the session I had to hand line it in, but it snapped my tippet like a piece of cotton, so I have shortened it so I can get the fish easier to my hand. Also one on the dry.

Nice fish! How did the rod handle the larger one?

Hi Simon.
There was no problem with the rod, the leader I made for Czech Nymphing, same as the one I showed you that I use on my fly rod, made out of braid, was a bit to long and I hadn't got a scoop net with me, so i had to grab hold of the line, I though the fish was played out, but it wasn't and snapped the tippet like a piece of cotton, so I have shortened it up and carry my net.
Had some nice sized out of season trout on the dry today on your rod, I really like looking at the bend in the rod and boy does it bend ;D
