Just a quick thread to say that I have just received some flies from Esoteric Tackle. I am really impressed with them, they are tied by Louis Noble (October Trout & Salmon). The interesting thing is that they are tied on eyeless hooks, the eye has been formed by using a silk bead cord. This means that on many of the flies the loop often matches the body colour or better still can form a hotspot. The fly is tied on 'Owner' hooks which I understand can be bought from 'Esoteric'. Altogether very impressive flies. I shall be trying them on The Wye next week, if I don't catch it won't be the flies fault! Browntrouter.

Trial packs of the Owner hooks are available in the shop as well as full packets. Note that these hooks are slightly ridged on the shank so that the thread has something to grip unlike spade end hooks with the spade snipped off. The hooks are fine wire and ridiculously sharp! A while ago I wrote my feeling about eyeless hooks in the following article: www.esoterictackle.co.uk/content/7-why-use-eyeless-hooksThe flies tied by Louis are the very highest quality using the very best materials. Fantastic flies from a top flight fly dresser.

I was fishing last night incidentally and tried out the Hares Ear Sakasa Kebari that Louis tied. First cast, brown trout about 1lb.
I vouch for these flies and hooks as well!! They are thin, sharp and strong. They hold excellently as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either the hooks or Louis's flies.
Cheers,
CP

I like the Knapek hooks Cust sells, I used them the other day for the first time and my hook up rate dramatically improved. I noticed a lot of the fish were very finely lip hooked, I think these were the fish I was losing on the poorer quality hooks I was using before. I just cleaned Cust out on the size 14 lake hooks.

a belated thanks to browntrouter and captainpurple for their kind comments regarding my flies - good to know my efforts are not in vain.
I do in fact use them as well with good results, Waterhen Bloa being my favourite.
I wish you continued success !
