tomorrow will be my first dedicated Grayling fishing trip since the trout season started back in March. I generally forget all about the ladies when trout are available but the season closed yesterday so grayling are back on the map. I've never targeted grayling with my tenkara flies so tomorrow should be a good chance to learn a little. I'll also be fishing new waters which should also be interesting. I've just packed away the vice and I thought I'd share a couple of weighted sakasa kebari I've tied for tomorrows session. Copper Wire Sakasa Kebari: Pink Wire Sakasa kebari: The copper is tied with wire only and the pink is tied using a thread base, tying with just the copper wire makes it a little tricky as it can be slippy on the hook. This means that you have to hold the tag end secure while adding the hackle and hackling the fly. I'm hoping that the little extra weight the wire offers will get the flies down a bit further in the water. Tomorrow will probably be the first time I fish a non sakasa kebari as I just tied up a bunch of Killer Bugs and I'm sure I'll have a couple with me. If the sakasa kebari are doing the job I won't change to a killer but I may be tempted if things are slow, who knows, I might even blank Well, I hope you enjoy the patterns and as always I'm happy to read your comments.
