Hello everyone, my name is Chris and live just south of Lancaster. I fish when i can with the fly when possible for Trout, Grayling, Pike, which isn't as often as would like. I'm am member of the Wild trout Trust and The Grayling Society. My first contact with Tenkara was from an article in F.F.&. F.T. written by Dave Southall it really set me thinking and searching on't "tinternet" came up with loads of information. My own personal view is that development of our popular flyfishing methods was evolving in the same direction, that is towards a style similar to Tenkara. Hobgoblin

Welcome to the forum Chris.
I agree with your last paragraph. Around the same time as i came across Tenkara i was thinking of having a light lined 12-13ft rod built.
All the best with your fishing, hope to hear more from you.
Stevie.

Welcome to the forum. Tenkara is certainly growing in popularity and I hope it continues. I was an early adopter of French nymph and I can't remember when I first came across Tenkara, but it sounded perfect for the rivers on the Isle of Man... and I think I am right, it is!

Hello again everyone, I've not disappeared off the face of the planet, still here, but tied up with other stuff for quite a while. I've been on the local river a couple of time this trout season and landed fish both times. Planning on a trip to the Upper Tees bank holiday weekend (sun)
Good luck and tight lines to all.
Chris (Hobgoblin)

Welcome to the Forum Chris. I'm delighted to hear that my writings encouraged you to investigate Tenkara. I came to Tenkara as a logical extension of the high sticking that I was doing with a 10' 3 weight on pocket water rivers.
