At last got out to the Alyn not been for a few months due to the state of river but the good news is that all that willow has been washed away and the river looks fantastic. Fished last Sunday and this Sunday caught all fish on dry flies very small dry flies for me anyway size20 to 24 had a dozen last Sunday best 12 ins and this Sunday 6 best 14 ins. The difference in the fishing was that last week the river had colour in it and this week it was clear, the Alyn is difficult to fish when clear being a small river the fish are easily spooked. Using the Tenkara definately gives an advantage over rod and line, the presentation is far superior but you still have to present the flies without any drag or the fish will refuse to take. coppernymph2
