I've started a small blog to highlight my new interest in Sakasa Kebari and the "One Fly" approach, I use the term loosely. My take on the one fly approach is to fish only Sakasa Kebari although I'm happy to tie them in many variations. Rather than mix this in with my main fishing blog I thought it might be better to write a new blog specific to my new found interest in this type of fly. I may also include some other tenkara flies occasionally however as the title would suggest it's pretty much all about Sakasa Kebari. The blog outlines my main reason for tying a specific fly and the materials used to tie it and any features that may be out of the norm. I may do the odd tying video for my youtube channel when I have time and patience to footer around with my camera. Some Photos: Website: sakasakebari.blogspot.co.ukI'd be very happy to receive comments about my take on the "One Fly" approach, my tyings and anything else you feel may be relevant to this thread or the Sakasa Kebari blog. @thetroutfly

I am your first 'follower' ;D Very professional blog, with clarity, and thorough explanation throughout. A splendid job! Do you tie to order? I sold my tying gear a couple of years ago when I moved down south from Inverness, and would love to give your wonderful flies a chance of swimming in slightly warmer current lol Cheers Gary

Hi Gary, thanks for following the blog and for your comments. I have tied to order in the past, mainly for friends and I've sold online before, mainly when I just had too many flies in my big black box. I guess I could look at adding a sales form to the blog but I'd rather get a few more patterns done first. If you send me a PM with a delivery address I'd be happy to send you a few flies to try out a little thank you for being the first follower.

You're a Star!
Will be interesting to see how the course fish accept them (most likely the main quarry whilst searching for that elusive Upper River Nene Brownie!).
It's probably a bit like searching for Nessie! ;D lol
Will pm you now.
Tight lines
Gary

Speaking of Nessie, I lived in Fort Augustus for a while (it's where I met the missus) and I never saw any sign of the monster in all the time I was there, shame really, I'd love to be one of those crazies sitting in a bar drinking straight whisky and telling of my encounter with the monster of the deep

Perhaps you have to sit in a bar drinking straight whisky before you have an encounter with the monster of the deep.

I've recently added a Facebook "fan" page to my blog in an effort to make it easier to connect with other tenkara anglers and fly tyers interested in Sakasa kebari. My FB Page is www.facebook.com/SakasaKebari or if you're visiting the blog there's a widget where you can like. Cheers there are a few tenkara related FB pages popping up so I'll be liking a few soon. If you have one I'd be happy to be pointed in your direction.

Expanding my Horizons. As well as my Sakasa Kebari blog I also have thetroutfly fishing blog, a blog about local fishing around Edinburgh and a blog/forum/gallery all about the Water of Leith (my local river)and various online profiles. To share all or at least most of this content I've recently started a Google Currents Edition that combines my blogs and other stuff into an easy to read Edition which is kind of like an online magazine. Google Currents is available on IPad, IPhone and Android devices so if you'd like to check it out you can follow this link using your mobile device: www.google.com/producer/editions/CAowvNXpAw/thetroutflyor visit: thetroutfly.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/thetroutfly-on-google-currents.html for more details. Cheers!
