A hatch of size 20 midge's. This fly has been a terrific pattern for me this season. Confidently taken every time.

Nope ... Easy Dub Micro Chenille much stronger and more durable.

Cracking looking flies...they look as though they might be relatively easy to tie...as long as you have a magnifying glass Alex

They remind me of a palomino style pattern. It looks like you,ve burnt the end of the Chenille to taper the body. I fish a very similar wet pattern with a soft hen hackle Micro chenille is a great material. Often overlooked. Try the grey with a cock grizzle hackle. A sort of palomino grey duster, its a killer.
You have a very good pattern there Cust & one i wouldnt hesitate to fish with.

Very easy to tie. Black thread, short length of the Easy Dub (make sure it's that one and not just micro) tie it in, a few turns of cock hackle. Whip finish and trim the hackle underneath. Job done. Fast and simple.

Great pattern, i've used a fly pretty much like this succesfully fishing on roaches in Dutch waters. (.....we don't have much opportunity to fish for trout in Holland)
