“Hallo” all Tenkara UK members-my first post and hopefully with lots more to follow.
Well I finally got my Tenkara pole and I am very impressed by the quality and the feel of the product. Gave it a go the other day for grayling on the Clyde. Although I didn't catch, it handled lovely – great control and how light it is. What a pleasure to use. Simon(Custom Furles) I used the green colored furled leader. It took me ages to work out the knot to use for attaching it to the pole. Its easy, but for some reason my brain couldn't work it out- I'm OK now. I was nymphing and think that the yellow may have been better because I like to see the line going into the water. If you also do them in red I may order a couple. Once the weather gets better and the ice has gone from our stocked pond (probably be by the start of the trout season the way it is going up here in Scotland) I want to try the pole for catching our little wild brownies. They hang around the margins and the pole would be ideal for flicking the dry over the reeds. The only trouble would be if I hooked into one of our bigger residents-they go up to 12lb with an average of 3lb. Don't want to break my Tenkara on the first fish I hook. Thats all for now-good fishing to you all. Peter

Welcome to the forum Peter. It's going to be an interesting year, I wonder if Tenkara will take off and how many may join this forum? Next time we are on the Dee I shall take some pictures of both the hi vis yellow and orange leaders and post them here on the forum. Simon.
