I got some new hooks delivered so thought I better have a play. This is on an Owner 5.5 MicroX Heavywire. The body is seagull quill and the hackle is something a little different. Those that use blue jay probably don't look at the other feathers on the wing but there are some lovely brown and grey soft hackles to be had.

Do you use red silk for the eyeless loop? The hackle looks super soft. I think the urban trout around my neck of the woods would love this. They seem to like a bit of red and white.

Bead cord... Size 2. 100% silk. The hackle is really soft and seagull has a natural dark fringe.
