Hi everyone had a day on the Calder last Saturday, it was freezing cold only 7deg C, and a wind blowing as well, noyhing showing on top and no fly on the water, so fished a couple of nymphs under a Black Klinkhammer had a good day manged a dozen fish one Grayling about11/2lb and eleven Trout up to 15ins, most on the nymphs but in the afternoon there was a small hatch of LDO and managed a couple to a dry, one a nice trout of 15ins.. On the way back to the car I thought I would try a bit of downstream Tenkara fishing and proceeded to hook and lose half a dozen fish don't know why I couldn't hang on to them perhaps they were coming a bit short, still a good day taking into accountmof the weather and the fact that there was a frost the night previous. My new Amago has arrived can't wait to try it it will mean less wading for me which is a good thing. Ian.R

You did well considering the weather conditions Coppernymph.
Your pretty much sandwiched between Wadsworth moor & Longridge fell, A beautiful area. A regret i have is not taking my camera with me when i worked up there.
Good luck with the Amago. Regards Stevie.

Sounds like a great day fishing. A 15" fish... so much for Tenkara is only good for fish of 10" or smaller.
