Hello I've got the tip of my rod stuck, I've gone through the usual tapping drills etc any suggestions?

Paul,
Have you tried the rubber band method of freeing the segment
Here's another tip from Tenkara USA

Paul,
Sounds like you might have a bit of grit or something caught between the segments...Daniel Galhardo recommends that you stick with this method as the top is fragile as you know...but he does say they that you can exert quite a lot of force using the rubber band method...do you think you can increase the force that you are using....just in case you are being a bit tentative....other than this technique I don't know what to suggest as I've been fortunate not to be in your position...perhaps some other forum members can help...good luck

Thanks Alex for for your help, I've had a result I ran the male bit under the cold tap and poured water just off boiling over the female and it worked. There was some contamination in the joint it looked like a flake of varnish or something. I've now taken the rod apart and given it a good clean. Relieved.
