Friday night, Saturday morning was a big washout with the river Alyn high and coloured no good at all for fishing. On the other hand the sun came out heating up our summer house and my fly tying area. A good excuse to sit down and tie flies, while I enjoy fly tying I still find it quite monotonous, I tend to get bored after 5 or 6 flies. But a good tying session resulted in around 25 new Tenkara style flies ready for Mondays trip with Orange otter, weather depending? Anyway I decided to share my tying bench and location with you, where do the rest of you tie your flies, share your benches with the rest of us? Simon.

Simon,
That's some set up you have there...ideal... I've never seen a magnifying glass that big....or has it been magnified to look that size ;D I keep all my gear in the garage in a 15" Tuffnal box ....you can surmise that I don't have that much gear as I have always bought my flies in the past apart from this year when I'm tying and trying my own. My fly tying is done in the kitchen....where I made my nets....beside the cooker....and if they don't work out right...I can always turn the gas on [ thanks to custheyder for that comment] ;D ;D

... you're welcome. I'm not taking pictures of my bench until I have a right good tidy up. I've all sorts about including a magnifier and light just like yours Simon. Great setup you have. My tying stuff is in one of those B&Q big 3 draw plastic tower things on wheels. and a couple of cabinets of miscellaneous stuff. I also have a travel tying kit which is an old 6 reel case which is stuffed to the gunnels with everything for the rivers. Not unpacked it since the greyling trip in December. One day I'll get a picture.... when you can see the desk top! Cust.

It must be good to have a place where you can tie flies. I tend to move mine about a bit and then find I don't have what I need. One day perhapce I will have a space to do it without having to pack up after each session. Richard

I am very lucky I have a room to myself and can leave stuff hanging about, mind you I need a room for all the stuff I have acquired over the years no photo it's a mess.
