Rivers have just opened in Cotswolds so have I had first chance to try Tenkara.
First outing had 8 wild trout, biggest about 9 in which is good for the river. Second outing had 5 .
All fish were caught on size 16 & 18 gold head GRHE's
This is exceptional for the river. Looking at my records for the past 5 years fishing western style early season I have been lucky to catch max of 2 fish on each outing. I believe that I would have blanked this year using western style as the river is reduced to a trickle. Every fish in the river would have been spooked even using my 2 wt fly line.
So a good start with Tenkara which I hope continues. Will keep you posted. Regards

Your very lucky to have such stunning rivers & scenery to fish in sanderm100.
I spent a week last year walking in the Cotswolds, based from Coln st Aldwyns on the bank of the beautiful river Coln.
I walked large parts of that river & the rivers Leach & Windrush, in one word "stunning". I remember wandering the banks of the Coln for a full morning & never bumped into another soul. Paradise!!!!
My only regret? No rod! Regards Stevie.
