I was wondering what the best hackle feather would be for tying the Sakasa Kebari hackle.
I am sure I read an article or watched a video that described a comparison between different hackle feathers?.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards SKUK

SKUK
I've just tie some with a partridge necj feathers and they seemed okay to me. Not sure if this is the best feather to use though? There are a lot of good videos on you tube that give details of the materials used as well as showing you how to do it of course.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm sure I saw a video clip which demonstrated a comparison between different hackle feathers and how the hackle moves in the water during fly manipulation.
From memory sparrow hackle was the best so will give it a try and provider some feedback.
Kind Regards SKUK

indian cock cape is good,i use a dyed one in brown but have used others.check out lathkill fly tying on the web, loads of flytying stuff at reasonable prices. its a few quid for a cock cape from them and they have plenty of different colours. they also do a 477 chadwicks substitute for tying killer bugs which is good. tied some bugs with it back end of last season and caught consistently on my river.
