Its been a few weeks since the last instalment from the rivers of North Wales, this has been due to the terrible weather that we all seem to have had. Last weekend we managed an afternoon on the river Dee at Llangollen, the river was at Summer levels and crystal clear, problem being was the snow melt which has really chilled the water down. No fish or even a nibble today but a chance to try out our new underwater camera above and below the surface. For the casting video the camera is on a strap around my head, that's why it's not level but I think it shows the turnover very well. The underwater view nearly froze my hand off! Next time the camera will be fixed to a stick. Both videos are a trial so I will not be expecting a nomination for an Oscar! When the fish decide to play I hope to get some exciting underwater footage. This weekend we were upstream nymphing on the Lower River Alyn. Again the river water is still very cold but clear. I seem to be losing my touch again the fish vanished from every pool and run I tried. Nearly broke every bone in my body by slipping and falling, as I fell I remembered to throw the rod to save it from damage! I'll let Sonia tell you of her outing, I will say though she is very hard to live with when she catches and I don't!
