I tied these two on size 16 hooks. I wrapped some lead wire around the hook to get it down to where the grayling hopefully are leckie

theyre nice and buggy looking...is it dubbing for the body?? try tying them on a grub hook, a 14 is a good buggy size. kamasan B100G is a favourite and reasonably priced. for weight i tend to use medium copper wire, or tungsten wire.i dont like using lead in any form but thats just me. also think about a trigger colour for a collar such as a shrimp pink, orange, green etc.. people have mixed opinions on pink for grayling wether it works or not.for me a tiny collar of shrimp pink ice dub works but not fluro pinks. the ice dub mixes well with more natural coloured dubbing and puts a pinkish hue through the fly wich isnt as garish and adds a bit of sparkle keep tying buddy we will get there .the more posts and pics the more we can learn from each other. perhaps a flyswap maybe on the cards later in the year when people have had time to get an idea whats working for them. keep em coming leckie....... and everybody else aswell

dave1972, The body isn't dubbed it's a card of body material I had lying in my fly box. It's been there for over 10 years I guess. Just using up materials. Same goes for the lead wire. I'll be up for doing some fly swaps later in the year once my fly tying improves I'll make some more bugs with a red or pink head. leckie
