a little olive pattern ive tied tonight for start of season. im going to try it as a wet pattern and fish it in the top foot of river for first half of season.going to tie half a dozen which will take hours as i tie so bloody slow nothing complicated but for olives, which seem to be around early part of season on rivers, thought it a good place to start. hook: kamasan B100 size 14 thread: 8/0 uni in olive rib: uni soft wire size small in orange thorax:hareline hares ear plus in natural hackle:barred ginger indian cock cape leckie, ive been watching a guy called davie mcphail on youtube. think he is from your neck of woods? anyways, if your just starting your fly tying he is a very good person to watch and get to grips with your tying.

dave1972 That's a nicely tied fly. Thanks for the photo. I tried to take a photo of the few I tied but I couldn't get the focus right.....need to read the manual I think. Yeah, I follow Davie McPhail on youtube a lot. He's a great fly tyer. I can see the resemblance with the the fly you tied leckie
