Hello all.A top pattern for me everywhere is a black dubbed sakasa kebari.(has been for years)Anyway over the years I have noticed i often catch more on size 12 or 14.I do carry it in 16 & size 18 but bigger usually works better.I fish rivers with poor feeding & rivers with rich feeding.Just wondering if other people find sakass kebari suites bigger flies.Cheers all

for what it's worth rabmax, I fish Welsh rivers with generally poor fly life and rarely use anything other than a s14, sometimes 16 but never as large as 12. Interesting...

I fished Dartmoor a couple of years ago East & West Dart. I did very well on a size 14/12 Ishigaki Kebari, CDC elk size 14 and killer bug size 12. Those 3 flies cover most occasions and are pretty much all I use, I'm sure others will have their favourites.
