I'm back in the USA! I am lucky to be close to a couple of fine trout streams her in Sheboygan County and also lucky the Wisconsin Dept of Natural Resources, after some serious studies, decided to open the State's trout streams to catch and release fishing from the first Saturday in January. So on a balmy day last week I decided to trudge through the snow and try to catch (and release) some post spawn brown trout. The access parking lot hadn't been used since the snowfall so I parked on the road and made my way to the stream. I had a 'Grayling Bomb' fly from Barbless Flies on my T USA Sato rod and within 2 casts hooked and lost my first wild brown trout. 90 minutes later I had hooked ten and brought 5 to hand before I needed to be somewhere less fun. On Sunday we head for Florida with a brief stop in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee so hopefully a little fishing on the way.
