Hi - I'm David from West Lancashire.
I've fished for coarse fish (mainly in canals) for just over 50 years, but I'm relatively new to fly fishing and even newer to tenkara/tanago fishing.
I like to experiment with new methods and will continue to mainly target coarse fish from my beloved canals (especially perch!)
I have done a great deal of UL lure fishing in recent years using a short whip, so tanago fishing seemed a logical progression as I love to tie flies and also like to travel as light as possible when I'm fishing. (If it don't fit in my waistcoat pockets, it ain't coming!)
Hope to learn a lot from this forum. Thanks for reading.
David

good luck David, a nice diversion from trout/grayling - I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience.

Welcome David. plenty of people target coarse fish using Tenkara rods. Have a read of some of the 'River & Stream' reports. I only use my Tenkara rod for coarse fish. Even catching bleak with quite small hooks (#18-24). Great fun.
