Has anyone used sea fishing shock absorbers? I bought five for £7. They are 13 metres long and the ones I bought taper from from 50lbs to 15lbs. They will need to be cut down. I have yet to be able to try them. Any comments will be welcome. Richard

I have had a look at them but haven't found one I can get the memory out of! If you have any luck I'd be interested to know.

Yes I used to use them a lot for the dry fly, only the last 4m is any good they do need a good stretch. I now prefer Cortland micron 20lb backing for the same job. 90% of my fishing is with fluorocarbon level lines.
