Hello All, Well it seems that I'm back. I originally joined way back in 2010, but I let things slip and ended up being a "deleted member" I've not let Tenkara slip though, having landed some nice wild brownies on my Iwana and even sewin in the upper reaches of a local river. Some might recognise me from other forums, not sure if that's good or bad. Anyway I'm fortunate where I live to have many very good stretches of river with wild brownies and grayling to target and with the new season just around the corner can't wait to get back out there. It's great to see Tenkara taking off in the UK. When I and a few others started we had to import all our gear from the States. Maybe some of you can remember when Tenkara USA used to limit the number of spare tips you could have in a year to two per person. How things have changed. Well enough prattling , time to check out the new forum. All the best for now springwell

Welcome back. Things have moved on a long way since those early days. I'm still proud to be an early adopter and the first to manufacture and sell rods in the UK. The new season won't start till April for me but there's plenty of innovation been going on since those early days.

Yes,
Things have certainly moved on in six short years.
A few stretches of river down here in south west Wales open in March, so not that long to wait.
A well respected sea angler and friend of mine is fascinated by Tenkara and its use in the salt, we are currently planning a session on another forum in the summer for mullet in one of our estuaries , which should be interesting.

Sounds interesting. I've targeted mullet with a fly rod but never Tenkara.
