Time I introduced myself, as I have been 'lurking' about this forum for a few months now gleaning as much information as possible. I too live in Gloucestershire and am new to Tenkara. I gave up fly fishing almost 15 years ago shortly after I moved down here from Cheshire, from where I had fly fished the rivers of Lancashire and North Wales for over 30 years. I only wished I had discovered Tenkara many years ago, especially as fishing the wet fly with a couple of spiders was my passion. I have now acquired an Eso Zoom rod 245-206cm Tenkara rod and more recently the Tenkara Times 1st step 360 and plan to target coarse fish as well as the odd trout or two.
Regards
David

david, Good to hear that you have rekindled your passion for fly fishing. Tenkara is one of the most simplest forms but one that will take a life time to master.
For me its the simplicity of taking a minimal amount of equipment, pitting man and his skills to trick a fish to taking an artificial fly.
All the best and tight lines for 2016.

Welcome David
Keep an eye on Wye and Usk Foundation there may be a Tenkara day next Summer. It is well worth coming along as there will be lots of hands on experience.
