Well, The day didn't start too well, I snapped an inch off the rod tip before a fly even hit the water. The only solution was to slide a length of leader inside the rod and attach the level line. I was trying out a Hi Viz level line from Tenkarabum which I'd received. Its certainly visible and works really well, definitely worth a go. I decided to fish a single goldhead ptn and I was travelling light, no net, camera or anything else just the bare essentials in my "man bag" . Fishing "my river" the little scrappy eight inchers soon started to take. Then something took and went down, always the sign of a good fish. It just sat there, when it decided to show itself I had a lovely 2lb wild brownie on, mmm now what. Just took it easy stayed calm and with side pressure let the rod do the work and very soon I was unhooking the fish in the river. Wish I'd brought the camera now. Had a couple more small ones, then we are off again with another lovely wild brownie a 1.5lber, this one was a bit more acrobatic though and he threw the hook in the water when I was unhooking, saved me a job. Had a few more small ones then its time to go. A great day with the Tenkara rod. Bill

Hi Bill,
What an awful start to what turned out to be a wonderful days fishing! Can the rod be repaired? or you going to get another Tenkara rod? Loved the report Bill, sounds like your really taken with the new rod. Hope you can get the tip sorted!

Hi Mostyn, Its repairable, I only broke off about an inch so it could be used again. I did order a new tip anyway at the weekend and received it Tuesday, so I'm back in action, maybe tomorrow. But I'll take the camera and net, just to be sure Bill

Your lucky to be able to fish during the week Bill, stuck in London with no chance of using the Big T!
