Lovely looking water and I am sorry to have been unavailable. I'd love to make it along to this event in future.

Really enjoyed Saturday. Idyllic surroundings and great company. I think it's brilliant that we have Simon's videos of these socials to look back on.
Thank you very much Simon and Louis for organising the day!

May thanks to Louis for organising the day and for Simon's much appreciated assistance. I took a long walk downstream from where I started, taking a rather unnerving slide 15ft down a bank when the path gave way beneath me. However, nothing broken, no harm done. I battled my way through some rough folliage back to the path and arrived at a bridge 3/4's of the way down the beat. That was good enough for me! Time to start fishing. It wasn't long before my peeping caddis was accepted by a little chap. There was a very dark and deep corner just upi from the bridge that I got some much bigger fish out of. Unfortunately I was a compete numpty with the camera and managed to lose them out of the net as I was lifting them to take a picture. I blame it on shaking hands from the slide down the bank. The pocket water is very good requiring accurate casting to winkle fish after fish from behind the rocks. Not all the water was so open. It soon closed in with low bramches that meant the only rod for the job was my little zoom rod. It was easily doing the business as the water begain to rise and colour up. It was a fantastic meet. Lots of good friends, old and new. Interesting water which is very reminiscent of my own Isle of Man waters. I hope we can do it again soon.

I'm pleased to say that the club will welcome us again next season, probably in June (after the stockings).
From the feedback (despite poor conditions)I suspect that everyone would like another crack at it.
Be in touch in due course.
Many thanks for those who turned up and made it a fun day.

Hello everyone: I'm pleased to announce that the Ceiriog Fly Fishers have agreed to let us have another day on their lovely waters, surely we can't be washed off again !!
To try to avoid this, the next day is on Saturday June 25th.
Arrangements are the same as last time if you look back. The cost for non CFF members will be £15 again.
I'd like to finalise names/number by June 1st so please let me know by then.
I'm afraid the number is limited to 15 rods.
We'll have a great day I'm sure.
Tight lines in the meantime.
Louis

Given I am still very unfamiliar with fishing in the UK/Wales and that I will make this a long weekend trip with plans to fish Friday through Monday, are there any other places in the area where I can get a day permit and fish? I was thinking I would hit the a wild trout stream part of the Wye & Usk Foundation on my way up or back.
Any info or pointers would be greatly appreciated and I am very much looking forward meeting new friends!
Cheers, Karel
