Just took the Tenkara rods today, my own Sawa that stayed in the car, and Hyiabarney's Sato. Had the obligatory full English fry up first, then to the local river for 0930 ish. Clear and sunny sky allowed us to see the bottom through crystal clear water all day. We started with a nymphs as there was no sign of anything taking off the top, had 1/2 dozen between us, but bumped of double that number. After a cuppa about 1230 ish, back in the river and worked a way up through some quiet, deeper water. By now the wind had started messing us about, so we both moved up a line weight to 4.0 from the 3.0 of the morning. Finally called it a day around 1500, with me having 9 to the net and I lost count of the ones that I practiced long distance C&R with, well it save getting my hand wet and smelling of fish. Not much hatching through the afternoon so kept the nymphs on. Then to the Pub for a good size steak, and being a true Yorkshireman it was a 2 for 1 deal. 2 x 12oz rumps for £14.50. All in all a good day on the river.

Sounds like a grand day Jim. Good call to go up a line weight.
Happy days.

Sounds idyllic.
Fishing, food, company - why isn't everyone an angler?
