Good Morning,
I would like to introduce myself. Based in Derbyshire, I fish the River Goyt and the River Sett for wild brown trout as a member of the Disley & New Mills Angling Club. I had read about Tenkara but it was only last summer that I watched a fellow member enjoying success Tenkara fishing on one of my regular beats. A Tenkara rod soon followed as a birthday present and I pottered about rather unsuccessfully trying to learn new skills from video clips. A fantastic day of instruction with JP on the River Derwent at Yorkshire Bridge sorted me out and I am now eagerly awaiting the new season to develop these skills.

WElcome to the Forum Alan. I'm sure you'll live Tenkara but why wait till the new trout season when there are grayling to be caught on your new toy?

Enjoy your Tenkara Alan. Do as DaveS recommends and give the grayling a go as they are in good condition right now. Glyn

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice. I intend to fish for Grayling on the River Goyt as soon as I am well enough to get out.
