We just finished the last pieces of the voiceover today and now JP is pulling an all-nighter to get the sound production/mastering finished in time to get back to Dean to add the soundtrack back into the final edit so that we can render and then burn copies/pack them ahead of the Fair. It depends on the backlogs that we need to clear after the BFFI before we build up enough stock and add it into the inventory to make available via the website - but "soon" We are very pleased with what we have made - particularly as it is building up to a great overall picture with an accompanying e-book and then Volume 3 DVD to come soon after. The three things (Volume 2 and Volume 3 DVD plus e-book) each stand alone, but taken in combination give a really solid grounding from fundamentals to advanced fly design and, most importantly, how to choose what fly to use under any given conditions.

Hi Paul can't wait for the DVD, my only fear with the voice overs is it's going to be like one of those spaghetti western 'B' movies LOL. martin.."

We thought that doing it while breathing helium would make an interesting change from the norm

Believe it or not he cracks a joke and grins during one of his tying sequences in this volume Just spoke to him before and he got to bed at 5:30 this morning after doing the sound production - including the last music compositions and arrangements for some of the transitions. He and Dean are now working on the 'extra features' sections. Its great to see the collections of rough cuts that I've edited and the structures that I've written being combined with the material that we wrote together, the excellent footage that John and Dean have shot (with a smattering of my footage making the cut too! High 5!) with the interviews and demos that we set up and captured in Japan and the genuinely astonishing stills photos done by Dean and John - all being layered together in the video edit with such skill by Dean. Add to that the music composition and studio and location sound wizardry performed by John and I feel extremely lucky to have my contributions to the structure, messages and content (in partnership with John) turned into something that actually exceeds much of what I had originally envisaged. I think it is very rare to have these kind of collaborations where everyone brings such a lot to the table - and we have enough friendly rivalry that, in trying to impress each other, we come up with a final product that is something that genuinely excites us.

Forgot to say in answer to previous questions, we'll have some level lines, a few kebari and access to rods to demo/sell as well as the DVDs and Blu-rays. On one of the days we'll have the good fortune to see Seth's latest project (under wraps for now!)

Very sad news that Ray Gibson has died suddenly and that Wendy won't be at the BFFI as a result. He was always one of the first faces I'd see and go over to say hi to at almost any fly fishing show I can think of.
The growth and success of the Burton Fly Fair was pretty much solely down to him.
