I live very close to the Wye but had never really thought about fishing it with a T rod before today. The main fish people fish for are barbel and chub and the elusive salmon. I thought I would have a go in a nice streamy section and was surprised that my first fish was a grayling and not a dominative dace. The grayling was not big but where there are small ones there ought to be bigger ones to. I shall have another go as it is only 10 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk away and I have a licence.

Yes a very pleasant discovery for you Richard. Maybe as the coarse spread upstream the game fish come down!! Lovely to have fish on the doorstep and well done for finding out. Glyn

well done Richard, you should find more places where grayling co-exist with dace and chub - great variety !
