Hi, New to the forum and after doing an introduction, here's my first post. I found a kit on Ebay last week (Tenkara Times 1st Step Rod (12ft, 6:4), hi viz 3.5 level line, 5 flies, 2 line keepers and some 5x tippet) from a seller in the Czech Republic and I couldn't resist it, in the main due to it's price and the convenience of a kit. I found 1 review on here which was favourable and hope to receive the kit in the next week or so, but wondered if anyone else been down this route for their equipment. Regards, Del.

Del I think Dave Southall may be able to help you here as he knows their stuff well. I think you have done ok for starters. Glyn

Thanks for that. Forgot to mention that it comes with "3 segments tip section", which I assume means the end 3 parts, and from the reading I've done, may well come in handy. Yep, I found DaveS's review and it was favourable. Really looking forward to playing with it on a river I fish with some tricky currents; any line on it at all and there's tons of drag (or me anyway). Del.

Oleg describes the First Step rod as a starter rod but it is very good as a general purpose rod, not as light as thee superb TRY series of rods but a great rod nonetheless. You'll not be disappointed with it.

Thanks very much Dave. My wife just sent me a message to say it's arrived, albeit her actual words had some expletives amongst them. I hope to have a session with it this evening. I will have a go with it this evening! Regards, Del.
