Posted for Louis. At the recent Bala show I was shown a walking stick which contained what appeared to be a Tenkara rod. It belongs to an officer of the Corwen club who believes it to be Victorian. It is heavily engraved with Japanese writing and pictures which suggests some authenticity. It is only approx. 8 ft when extended and pretty stiff but usable I'm sure. Is it possible that someone can shed some light on this very interesting rod. Louis.

Simon I would suggest that you route it to Dr Ishigaki via Paul G. He might be able to decipher the symbols. Interesting piece of kit though Glyn

I'd be very interested in knowing more about this rod as well. Looks very interesting.

Hi - very interesting. Unfortunately, the writing consists of kanji that I don't recognise. If it had been katakana or hiragana I'd have had half a chance!
