as I am pretty new to the entire fly fishing scene including tenkara - this is going to be my first full year. I am still sea fishing but have also been getting down to the rivers with my coarse rods (again new to recently but did as a kid). I was down on the dorset stour earlier this week, looking for possible marks good for fishing on the fly and to target some nice chub, when I noticed I had been getting plagued by flies. Now - am I correct in thinking this means the fly fishing should start picking up soon too as the natural stuff around again?

Depends on the type of fly? Are they hatching from the river or land based? This is where matching the hatch comes in. Lets hope the Spring is not that far away the river up here in north Wales are still very high, but only just two weeks before the trout season opens.
