Super Heavy Mobile Shrimp Pattern

Here is a pattern that John Tyzack came up with after we’d both been experimenting with the use of CDC fibres in nymph patterns. The video shows how wonderfully mobile the pattern is when manipulated in the same fashion as a sakasa kebari.

The pattern has already proved very successful for big grayling lying in deep water. It may not be a traditional tenkara pattern but with the cold weather we’re having at the minute I’m sure it would be of use to those venturing out with a tenkara rod

Love the mobility that the CDC gives and of course it is so simple to construct. Got to be worth a swim for sure. Thanks JP.

Interesting that the tungsten body instantly changes a straight shank hook profile into a curved shrimp one.

When it is jigged it almost looks like the front and back end of the fly are hinged (a bit like that "rubber pencil" illusion).
