Here is a short video of how I make my furled lines for tenkara, hopefully it's easy to follow and of some use In this video I explain how to furl a level line for tenkara fishing. I'm using short lengths of monofilament however when I'm making a line for real I usually use lengths of between 14' & 20'. This is my preferred line to use when tenkara fishing, I started experimenting with furled leaders before I started tenkara fishing but since I picked up a tenkara rod it's become a bit of an obsession. I had to chop a little of the video out during editing to make it under 10 minutes but each stage of the process is explained and only some repetition has been removed. The recipe for this line is: 4 lengths of 12lb mono, flurocarbon or copolymer and orange or yellow braided fly line backing. There's a little more about the lines I make on my blog: www.thetroutfly.blogspot.co.ukI hope you will enjoy watching this video and experimenting with furled lines!

Cheers Gary,
a good tip for when you are using long lengths of line (14' and above) is to put one tag end at each side of your body and walk while you furl. When using long lengths of mono the line has a tendency to wrap around itself, walking around the living room while furling seems to help combat this.
