I usually float tube this place with a normal fly rod but took the opportunity to grab this rainbow off the jetty having popped back for lunch. 2.5lbs on a 12ft Iwana with furled leader and 4lb tippet. My mate Bob had to help me with the netting! It gave me the right run around (literally - up and down the jetty) having mullered a bushy F-Fly. Sorry about the slime on the fish. I forgot to wash it down after I'd administered the last rites whilst grabbing it firmly with the net mesh. Cheers Rich

You'll have to try it on the tube next time! Simon. The tube was parked up behind the lodge at the time Simon! ;D Annual CFF Thornton social, Thursday night to Sunday lunchtime. Tenkara saw action last Thursday around 1pm. For the remainder a 6wt Redington with a Di5 hosting a booby low and slow from the tube. Here's the Iwana all wound up inside Whistlekiller Armadillo Mansions that night. Will be using it on the tube a lot more often now I've gained the confidence with it from the staging. Heart in mouth time though! ATB Rich
