I was wondering if anyone has any information as to the nature of the landing net modification evident on *U tube videos* posted by Tenkaraman. Example....
Unfortunately for me the dialogue and accompanying script on his web page is in Japanese which as a former Govan educated Glaswegian was not a popular choice for the O Level curriculum of the 70's. That was along side Double Dutch. Despite repeat viewing of several of his videos I cannot suss out how the wrap around tool in the net head magically releases the fish without necessitating any direct contact and seems to use either the fish motion or fly leverage for release. Any clues or DIY explanations welcomed.
As a recent forum subscriber if this has been discussed elsewhere please direct accordingly.

It looks like just a little hook, like a cup hook, or the tiny hooks that go on the end of curtain elastic.

Just a thought ... I read more and more about catch and release (which i practice myself) and the lack of contact with the fish, not just on here but in various mags. There seems to a move towards never handling the fish, using the softest nets, total stress free placement in the water .... Would it not be easier to just pack in fishing ... get some waders and some Polaroid glasses and just go fish spotting in the local river... We catch fish with hooks, we pull them in by their mouths , if their lucky, and pull them out of their 'atmosphere'. That's how it works! If you find that unacceptable then do something else .... (cross stitch?). Otherwise lets just keep fishing ... Just a thought ...
