Fished the Onny yesterday, 13th May, chilly North Easterly breeze, but took a mixed bag of 27 trout and grayling from 4” to 14”. A good start the new season. Fished NZ style with an elk hair caddis as the indicator fly and a small bead head nymph suspended three feet below. The eleven best fish all came on the nymph. excellent start Larry, your favourite set-up I see. At least you can fish in England, Wales are restricting us to walking or cycling to nearby waters. Hopefully this will change in June.
A wonderful river, the Onny - I used to enjoy fishing it.
