Hi all,
I have just heard that Tenkara Centre UK has ceased trading.
I know that Mike Roden passed away a few years back, but wasn't aware that TCUK had ceased trading. I only found out because I was interested in getting a couple of spare top sections for an Issui and Suijou rod.
I thought their gear was spot on and it's a shame they are no longer in the game.
Just thought I'd share incase others were not aware.
Cheers,
CP

I'm sorry and surprised considering that they are/were a major supplier. Please give more info' when available.
Thanks CP

I was looking for replacement rod tips for a couple of rods that I purchased a few years ago, and when I tried to access the Tenkara Centre UK website, I noticed that it appeared to be unavailable. I had a look around and noticed that Sportfish carried Tenkara Centre UK gear - so I contacted them to see if they could source the sections (I was really just looking for spares). They responded and said that they could obtain any parts as Tenkara Centre UK has closed in the UK. I think its pretty disappointing because the gear they carried was very good in my experience.
Cheers,
CP

Thanks CP. I'm surprised because I believe JP and PG were promoting their gear.

If you look at the Companies House information, the company is listed as "active" however there is also an active proposal to strike off, so looks pretty ominous.

Thats great news. I assume this stuff will be New Old Stock? I guess it is true that they have definitely ceased trading then?
Cheers,

I have the Sawa rod which I absolutely love, I'm dreading breaking the tip. Does anyone of an alternative tip that fits?

Hi All,
Further to my previous messages it appears that replacement stock is pretty much unavailable at this time. The only way to get extra stock would be to get New Old Stock from any retailers that have spare parts available. I have done a bit of looking around and it seems that there is very minimal stock anywhere.
I guess it is possible that other vendors replacement parts would be of similar dimensions and make a broken rod functional, but I suspect that this could turn out to be quite costly and time consuming unless you happened to know a rod builder.
Cheers,
CP

Just bought( very cheap!) Chinese top two sections from amazon which sadly do not fit! Just have to be patient till owner returns from overseas in a month. Luckily I have other rods(too many!) voice from the kitchen!
