Simon I appreciate the forum isn't as busy as in the past but I still think it is a very useful resource and one I turn to from time to time. How would we organise get togethers without this forum. I don't know if you are thinking of closing it down because the work of running it has become onerous or is it really just the lack of recent posts. There is a gold mine of information contained within these pages which will continue to be relevant into the future.

Thanks Brian, running it is no issue it’s just been the lack of use now that Tenkara has taken a hold at last. So far 2 votes to keep it active!

I agree with Brian it would be a pity to lose the content, which is invaluable to the UK Tenkara angler. I know I have learned a lot since I ‘saw the light’ and became a tenkara enthusiast. This forum has been my lifeline for knowledge. On a personal level I haven’t posted much at all, mainly because for the last couple of years I have had a health issue which has got in the way of fishing, although I have been doing quite a bit of tying and dreaming of all the fish they are going to catch. Perhaps it is time for me to make an effort and ‘air’ a few of my efforts on the forum. In fact if everyone made a determined effort to post just once a week or even once a fortnight, we would very soon have an active forum again. David

I definitively vote to keep it open also!
Not only is it a knowledge repository and "look back" at the history and development of tenkara in the western hemisphere and particularly in the UK, but is a platform for to forge new friendships and events (i.e. the Welsh Social Tenkara Days).
Yes, it has been quiet at times, but so were other forums (i.e. TUSA, Tenkara-Fisher, Flyanglersonline etc.), particularly due to the rise of dozens and dozens of facebook groups & pages (who can keep up with all of them and not everybody is on facebook).
If it is no trouble and big expense to keep this forum up, I say please keep it alive and maybe we can all be a bit more active.

I would like to keep it open also. I appreciate that it is "work" for you Simon but as others have said.....there is so much information stored in these pages. I do refer back to certain threads every now and then. Can I say "Thank You" and also to Louis, for all you have done for Tenkara enthusiasts. It has all be a great journey. Ian.

Thanks Ian, it’s looking like I’ll leave things to just tick over. Very few reply’s with a healthy membership? Simon.

Please keep it going Simon. I refer to it a lot, although a lack of fishing opportunities have kept me from posting this summer. It is also a really good resource for newbies as I well remember myself. I have very much appreciated your work in setting this up and also maintaining it. PS I loathe Facebook, and use it only when I have to. Would all forums were not on Facebook. BTW, a satirical book by Dave Eggers called The Circle is worth reading on this topic.

Further to my personal response Simon, it would be of huge value to keep it going, particularly to new comers but we all look back at times I'm sure for technical tips.

I know this forum isn't particularly active maybe compared to other forums, but I think this is a valuable resource to tenkara anglers in the UK.
I know many western style fly anglers, but very few dedicated tenkara anglers, and I think this is the best UK community resource that there is.
If admin overheads were a problem or whatever I would gladly volunteer to assist in whatever way to keep this forum going.
I think this is a fantastic resource for UK tenkara anglers.
Cheers,
CP
