I was up in North Wales last Thursday and seeing that Friday was a free day I arranged to meet up with Simon Hayes and fish the delightful river Ceiriog near Chirk as his guest. We concentrated on the area from the confluence with the Dee up towards Pont y Blew. The river was pacy with some colour from rain on Wednesday but it was easily fishable. We both elected to fish Tenkara. It soon became clear that the grayling were not in every pool or run but we did manage to catch a few along with some OOSWBT. Simon managed two from a pool that he has never had grayling from before! Although it was a short session it was really enjoyable. Good to catch up with Simon again and enjoy the Ceiriog valley on a warm winter's day. Some pictures in a video link below. Thanks Simon for a fun day.
