Hi all, I have been fishing tenkara since early 2000's and in the early years I adapted the furled leaders I constructed for western style fly fishing. Some trial and error was the foundations of tenkara furled leader designs at the early stages as there was limited availability of taper steps and furling details specifically for tenkara.
In the last couple of years I have been using level lines and find these allow me better control during unfavorable downstream winds. I also feel that I do not a large belly in middle of the level line as I would with a furled leader.
After clearing out the garage over the weekend i found my furling board and decided to dust it off and play around with some of my original furled leader formula's. After a few hours furling this morning it has re-inspired me to start using furled leader.
I will keep you all updated on my progress.
Kind Regards DT
